Flutissimo is a community flute group of approximately 15 members who have enjoyed playing together since 2001. Our instruments include C flutes as well as piccolo, alto and bass flutes and our music selections are from a variety of styles, classical to contemporary, original works as well as arrangements. We have performed for the Kingston Symphony Music Lovers House Tour, as guests with the Kimball Theatre Organ Society, at the annual dinner of the Kingston Symphony Volunteer Committee, at concerts in the noon-hour series held at St. George’s Cathedral and as guests of She Sings and Kingston Chamber Choir. In 2010, we gave a concert jointly with the Kingston Horn Quartet as part of the Music West series. We also frequently perform at seniors residences in the Kingston area. Each spring we give our own concert with guest musicians which have included Glen Fast (flute), Sharlene Wallace (harp), Julie Paul (oboe), Dave Barton (guitar), Danielle Lennon (violin), Doug Rooks (double bass/keyboard) and Jennifer Tindale (cello)

Our rehearsals take place on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Edith Rankin Memorial United Church on Bath Road. If you are interested in joining our group or having us perform for an event, please contact Anne Palmer.
